Taegeuk Il-Jang is the yellow belt form for testing to gold belt.
In addition to knowing this form, you will also be asked to answer several terminology questions. You will also need demonstrate the self-defense maneuvers assigned for rank as well. To aid you in developing top form in this step of the way, please either watch the following video or click here to see the form in action from Kukkiwon’s website. They have an excellent breakout of the form and all the associated movements, with proper Korean terminology.
Next, you’ll want to make sure to practice often. This is the only way that you can be sure to achieve the level of mastery of these movements that will ensure muscle memory. Only with practice will you gain the confidence and consistency that will lend to your success in testing.
Finally, please ensure to review the rules of the dojang. These are paramount to newer students to master, and you’ll need to be able to know at least a few.
